Sitting is the new smoking.
Instead of sharing an inspirational quote for Becca’s Nurturing Thursday, I am sharing an article on health related topic. It’s an open access article. I hope it is useful for many of us.
The more hours that people spend sitting, the more likely they are to develop diabetes, heart disease and other conditions, and potentially to die prematurely — even if they exercise regularly.

Since we fostered our daughter’s little dog, three and a half years ago, my husband and I take daily walks to exercise her and I must agree that I’m fitter at 64 than when I worked in an office and drove many miles every day 15 years ago! Great explanation on why movement is nurturing! 🙂

Thank you Jacqueline for sharing your experience.
Now, we have standing desks in my office so people can change their positions. Small movements are always good.
