What we do see depends mainly on what we look for. … In the same field the farmer will notice the crop, the geologists the fossils, botanists the flowers, artists the colouring, sportmen the cover for the game. Though we may all look at the same things, it does not all follow that we should see them ~
John Lubbock (The Beauties of Nature and the Wonders of the World We Live in)

It’s a funny thing about life, once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things that you lack ~ Germany Kent

Peacock and the eye of man!

Prisons are built with stones of Law, Brothels with bricks of Religion.
The pride of the peacock is the glory of God.
The lust of the goat is the bounty of God.
The wrath of the lion is the wisdom of God.
The nakedness of woman is the work of God.
Excess of sorrow laughs. Excess of joy weeps.
The roaring of lions, the howling of wolves, the raging of the stormy sea, and the destructive sword, are portions of eternity too great for the eye of man.

William Blake’s  [The Marriage of Heaven and Hell , published 1793]
