The photographer has almost as much control over his subject matter as a painter. He can control light and shade, form and space, pattern and texture, motion and mood, everything except composition ~Harvey V. Fondiller[The Best of Popular Photography]
For Kate’s Friday Foto Fun theme.
We in this part of the world are used to gray and wet days. You may remember from my earlier post that last year in June it rained for 26 days in a row. In such default weather settings getting some colours on the sky are one of the most “Unlikely” events but a little sun shine is enough to brighten our day and make us active ( hyperactive in my case 🙂 ). These two photos were captured unexpectedly.
Along the same lineof thought, I would like to share a quote by Deepak Chopra for Nurturing Thursday
“Embrace the unpredictable and unexpected. It is the path to the infinitely creative in you.”
Exactly ten days ago I posted my entry “Dramatic Sunrise in Hong kong” with 3 images for Cee’s fun foto challenge with similar theme.
For this week’s photo challenge I am gladly presenting a photo of sunrise and a sunset. The sunrise photo was taken in 2014 in Chania at the Greek island of Crete with my Canon powershot A510 camera. According to file information it was taken before 6 o’clock. Photo details: 1/250 sek. f/5,5 23,1875 mm
The sunset photo was taken in Hong kong last year with my current camera Nikon D3200. Photo details: 1/400 sek. f/10 70 mm ISO 100.
The first picture was taken yesterday and the next two from my recent hike. As you see, it was freezing but I enjoyed every moment even when I had to slide on a slope. The trail was super steep and sliding was a safe option. The third photo is of frozen late. I learned that it is rather very hard and dangerous to walk on soft snow on a lake. I shall not dare next time.
I saw the Photo challenge on Wednesday late evening but instead on working on photo challenge on ‘Thursday and Friday, I did what I love doing 😀
Have a nice weekend!
Spectacular view of Stromboli volcano at sunset from Tropea in Calabria, Italy.
Stromboli is a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, off the north coast of Sicily, containing one of the three active volcanoes in Italy. It is one of the eight Aeolian Islands, a volcanic arc north of Sicily.
