Do your homework before you travel

This past week we were in Belgium. I had four days in hand to make the most of it. I did my homework and plan accordingly. We stayed close to the Place Charles Rogier as it is close to the Brussels-North railway station and also EU commission office. A win-win.

I managed to take walking tours in

  • Brussels
  • Antwerp
  • Ghent
  • Brugges
  • Liège
  • Leuven

Glimpses of my Belgium trip

The Grand-Place is surrounded by the guild houses, the City Hall and the Maison du Roi.

The Royal Saint-Hubert Galleries is an ensemble of three glazed shopping arcades in central Brussels, Belgium

The Antwerp Train Station is one of the most beautiful train stations in the world!

The Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station was built on the occasion of the 1913 World’s Fair. The railway station was decorated with murals and ceiling paintings of 13 Belgian cities, so visitors could also discover the rest of Belgium. Ostend, Mechelen, Oudenaarde, Ypres, Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges and Courtrai, among other cities, are depicted.

Reflection or no reflection, Ghent is indeed beautiful.

Cambrinus, a popular eatery in the heart of Bruges, serves up authentic Belgian cuisine in a cozy and friendly atmosphere.

Montagne de Bueren is a 374-step staircase in Liège. The staircase is named after Vincent de Bueren, who defended Liège against an attack by the Duke of Burgundy, Charles the Bold in the 15th century. It was built in 1881 to honour the 600 soldiers who died in the battle

The Town Hall in Leuven has three main stories, lined with pointed Gothic windows on the three sides visible from the Grote Markt.

I wanted to check the theme for “Lens artists photo challenge” this week but for some reasons I don’t see posts for various tags. I am getting just a blank page. I don’t have any specific plugin and use a free theme.

Any help is much appreciated.

It’s All about the Light

These images were taken at the Grand-Place or the central square of the City of Brussels during our last trip in 2019. The Grand-Place is considered as one of the most beautiful places of the world.

Brussels is also known as the “Chocolate Capital of the World”.

A sweet tooth –

A meal is insufficient,

without a piece of chocolate/sweet.

Small it may be.

Sweet tooth is an idiom that has been in use since the 1300s.

Nurturing Thursday: Accept

This image was taken at the grand place or central square of Brussels last Friday. Yes I was there just for weekend.

A secret, I am taking photography to another level and working on my portfolio. I am not sure if it’s right time but I wanna try it as a challenge. It’s time consuming and tiring especially after being in office for almost 9 hours these days.

Enough about me but are you trying something new these days? Break the routine and have fun 😀

This post is inspired from a comment by Carolyn of “does it even matter” and is my contribution for Becca’s Nurturing Thursday this week. .
