Flight of fancy: Observing autumn sun

I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.~ Dr. Seuss

Whatever you want, at any moment, someone else is getting it. Whatever you have, someone else is longing for.~ Laura Lippman

In current circumstances I am longing for sunny days. The declining day length and falling temperatures causing “raining leaves”. I wished to capture remains of the autumn but could hardly manage. Anyways, I was happy to be in nature for almost two hours.

Hope you are enjoying Sunday!

Getting back to routine after vacation

Weekend 125 – We are trying to resume our walk routines which is not easy after being away for a couple of weeks. Moreover when the change is temperature is from +32 degrees to +2 and from sunny settings to dull, cold, wet and dark days. I am finding it difficult even to be on wordpress. Why? Does anyone have an answer 🧐

Anyways, we did find some sunny period during the day and off we go to our usual hiking start.

Weekend 109: Last walk in October

Is this not a true autumn day? Just the still melancholy that I love – that makes life and nature harmonize.~ George Eliot

In a forest of a hundred thousand trees, no two leaves are alike. And no two journeys along the same path are alike ~ Paulo Coelho

Flowers, leaves, fruit, are the air-woven children of light~ Jacob Moleschott

One feels blessed when in spite of the odds one could manage last walk of october, before the light of the sun is hiden in dense clouds. I wished for a special entry for last walktober in 2020 and festival of leaves this week. I am really happy with what I experienced today. My little walk gave me immense pleasure. I hope you all are happy too.

The weather god was most kind earlier today. As of now it’s going to rain for next four days and currently it’s really stormy. Stay safe, healthy and kind.

Weekend 108: Autumnal stroll

Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience~ Ralph Waldo Emerson.

The images of wild roses were taken a couple of weeks ago. The colours were so different. Some trees were showing yellow shades but all was mostly green.

On Sunday we had been on our usual hike/walk. Unsure of weather in near future I insisted to go on a nearby mountain. It was perfect for hiking cold but sunny. Autumn sun makes every thing beautiful.

Let nature take its course. By letting each thing act in accordance with its own nature, everything that needs to be done gets done ~ Lao Tzu.

The last eight months we are at home and trying to cope with our new normals. Instead of discussing things which are out of our control we focused our energy on simple feasible tasks. We are happy with what we achieved.

Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth. ~Henry David Thoreau

Weekend 107: Chasing the autumn sun

Whole day sunshine is past for now. We are surrounded by mountains and to get the warmth of afternoon sun we need to move out of the house. We do not plan our hikes/walks on daily basis but what matters is the sunny side of the mountains 🌞😎. Anyways when we go out near farms, we get chance to say hello to happy sheeps and to enjoy the beauty and freshness of autumn.

I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.~
L. M. Montgomery (Anne of Green Gables)

AUTUMNAL

Pale amber sunlight falls across
The reddening October trees,
That hardly sway before a breeze
As soft as summer: summer’s loss
Seems little, dear! on days like these.

Let misty autumn be our part!
The twilight of the year is sweet:
Where shadow and the darkness meet
Our love, a twilight of the heart
Eludes a little time’s deceit. … …

Ernest Dowson (The Poems and Prose of Ernest Dowson)

Her pleasure in the walk must arise from the exercise and the day, from the view of the last smiles of the year upon the tawny leaves and withered hedges, and from repeating to herself some few of the thousand poetical descriptions extant of autumn–that season of peculiar and inexhaustible influence on the mind of taste and tenderness–that season which has drawn from every poet worthy of being read some attempt at description, or some lines of feeling.~ Jane Austen (Persuasion)

In our region the day tempearture is well below two digits now and the days are getting shorter hence it’s obvious that people enjoy the warmth of autumn sun. Trees are changing colours quite fast. A new scene welcomes us whenever we walk on the roads.
