Nice picture. Identifiable foreground, lines directing the eye, good balance of the masses, black and white emphasizes the whole. Thank you for sharing.
The house (in the foreground) may seem set-aside, alone, distanced…but nature/life is teeming around it and life is teeming inside of it. The house can see a reflection of itself and know it exists, matters, is precious. As is each human being in the world.
Your photo makes me think of two quotes:
“It’s easy to stand in the crowd but it takes courage to stand alone.” -Mahatma Gandhi
“Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe.” – Lao Tzu
Dear Carolyn, thank you so much for such elaborative explanation.
I took various images on that particular spot but we spent some time on talking about the reflection itself.
It was a magical day 🙂
Stunning Rupali, have two shadows, great capture, have a nice week!!!

To be integrated fully so that there is no mask, only that which is mirrored is identical to that which is external and real.

Dramatic and a little eerie, as though something will soon be menacing that house.

It’s a small separate part of this village and hence a world in itself 🙂

I have mostly seen that boundless still waters are always… deep and they tend to be reflecting.
A very beautiful picture.

It’s difficult to find water which is in peace with itself so that we get to see what we want to see 😀
