Summer at home…

“Live at home”~ George Washington Carver

This is the first summer I am not travelling to India or any other places. The travel restrictions have forced me to stay here. In the beginning I felt sad but then I started thinking about “Something good will always come out of something bad”.

I started enjoying my everyday hike/walk and I decided to work on my front garden.

I love to spend time in my little garden (there are not so many plants yet) and I am glad I trusted my instincts.

  1. I am hopeful that something good will come out of this. And like you say, we are getting something out of this already in terms of how we’re experiencing where we live. Thanks for sharing your photos and entries. I like seeing where you live – it’s a very beautiful place.

    • I am also hopeful, I hope people realize the seriousness of the pandemic and take care of themselves. It’s not time to play with our or other’s life.
These days I love to read positive stories. How ordinary people are bringing smile in lives of other common people. It gives me strength and hope of a better world.
      Thank you Todd.

  2. Your photos and quotes are so uplifting, Rupali!
Your flowers are gorgeous and joy-bringing! 🙂
Yes, I am so hoping people can find some good, some joys, each day even during these tough, sad times. And be reminded that the little things are often the best things…especially for our minds, hearts, and souls. 🙂
Traveling the world is a gift…the ability to live life at home with joy is also a gift. 🙂
    (((HUGS))) 🙂

  4. Yes, indeed it is sad to be at home. While, many a times, I even get frustrated just going around the house here and there, because I am more like a peripatetic. I find my relief when I am writing or just watching rains over my small terrace garden. Beautiful flowers Rupali, and I am so desperate to grow some of these. But due to pandemic, I have not been able to get seasonal flower seeds for my garden. I am so missing it.

Love your flowers. The clematis is very different in its color. Love the rhododendrons. I am glad you love gardening also. Brings peace doesn’t it?

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts Zakiah ji.
I am not a gardener but was inspired by my neighbours and many fine blogs on wordpress.
As july is vacation month we usually spend it in India and I had never thought about setting a garden. This year is different in so many ways but until now I am trying to be positive.
The plants helped me in finding peace, having patience and channeling my energy.
      Regards.

  7. I am sorry you missed going home. A lot of us expats did. I wanted to go also, perhaps for the last time. My dearest darling nephew’s daughter had her first baby on July 4th, I had attended her wedding in Madras in ’15. She wanted me to be there and I had hoped I would be. But we plan something, and the plans are changed to something else. Oh well. Just so they are happy. Sent her a big box of baby things yesterday by FedEx. (Had to empty my bank account to be able to do that! Just kidding!)
Gardening is for the soul. I love being out. Put some bird feeders in your garden and you will see the host of birds of all different colors come and you will have such a great time getting their photos.
    Much love.

    • One is blessed when one has people around the globe to share their happiness. Family and extended family is what we miss here but thanks to modern technologies.

Yeah I was discussing about bird feeders with my husband. Every new leaf or flower or a bee encourages us to add a bit of something here or there 🙂
      Regards.
