The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate ~ Oprah Winfrey.
This summer we were fortunate enough to visit a few historic hotels in Norway. I am presenting glimpses of one of our visit. The hotel, which has been inherited from generation to generation, is a charming family hotel and an attraction in itself, located in the middle of the world’s best tourist destination, according to National Geographic. The hotel has been owned by the same family since 1690 and is the oldest family-run hotel in Norway, with more than 370 years of history.
There is no love sincerer than the love of food.~ George Bernard Shaw
Keep your heart open to dreams. For as long as there’s a dream, there is hope, and as long as there is hope, there is joy in living~Unknown
Everything in that setting was just perfect. We left with nothing but wonderful memories.
A treat indeed! I love family-owned hotels, particularly long-held ones

looks most elegant, great way to create some new memories … people here are being encouraged to travel locally and finding places they didn’t know about!

🙂 Hope I didn’t disappointed you. 🙂
It’s a very simple, elegant and well maintained hotel.
Same here and tha’t the reason the season was not that bad for the local and seasonal business houses.

lol I know you don’t share much ‘personal’ stuff Rupali 🙂 Glad they had a good season and soon the skiing will take place and that’s much easier to social distance 🙂

What a beautiful place! and what wonderful experiences AND memories made! 🙂 A treat, indeed! 🙂
When I’ve visited similar places I would sit in awe and think about all the people who have been there through the years and what their lives might’ve been like, etc. 🙂 Oh, if those walls could talk, the stories they’d tell! 🙂
HUGS!!! 🙂

Hard to imagine a place going back that far in time with one family owning it thru multiple generations! It looks so lovingly cared for and no wonder! Quite a special treat!

What a delightful visit that must have been. I can’t wait for the opportunity to travel like that again, perhaps someday to Scandinavia (Sage is very interested). Of course while I “can’t wait” the pandemic has different ideas.

See the way pandemic has affected us. We got this opportunity due to pandemic. Sad isn’t it.
I hope you and Sage along with Daegan will get chance to visit Scandinavian countries in near future. Take care.

Oh yes. I didn’t think about it. The soup was with carrots, the first and second main dishes were cod with mashed peas and salmon with potato puree and green kale. The dessert was Norwegian cheese cake.
Thank you Zakiah ji. Take care.

So very elegant, Rupali. I can’t remember the last time I went out somewhere nice for dinner or lunch. It was probably before I retired. You’ve reminded me that I should perhaps branch out a bit. I hope you had a wonderful stay, Rupali.

Historic places are still so fresh and I can feel they have so expressively preserved it. Dining at a place, something like this, would have transposed you to the old days. I guess.
